I Need Some Advice!

Hello to all my dear blogger friends! I am in great need of your advice, I thought that I should ask before I make a huge mistake. I have a lot of gold frames in my house. Should I paint them white or in whitish and pinkish tones? I liked the gold look for a while but now I’m getting a little tired of the gold thinking that it just doesn’t fit into my sorta all whitish theme and I’m getting itchy fingers. What do you think?

Now these pictures are not very good because I took them in a hurry today so don’t look to close. These frames hang above my kitchen set

g wall

these are above my sofa

and these are above my TV. I also have some in my bedroom. HELP!!!

Please comment, I will be looking forward to your reply’s.

  1. Jo,
I love the collection in your kitchen. How unique and wonderful is that vignette of frames on the wall. I actually like it as you have it but for a more dramatic look you could paint the frames all one color. Of course I am going to vote for white lol! I think your gold frames would look great white or even white with some distressing. You have a great collection of framed art and I think it would really show them off to paint the frames.

  2. I don’t mind gold but I understand getting tired of a look. Could you accent the gold with some white by using an applied technique rather than painting it solid? I used a “fan” brush once that I dipped in the paint, and made whispy marks on the item. It’s kind of a cool affect ( you can practice on cardboard to get the feel) On the collage wall I think I would stick to three colors which I see already there… the aqua/blue, gold and white. Perhaps you could paint a couple of pieces in the color like the clock and then finish the other pieces in a consistent gold and white. Sometimes unifying the look with a cohesive presentation brings out the best even when the pieces are random. Same with the over the tv.
