Hello everyone! Sorry I have been missing. Flu season! Since we are having a fun table runner and pillow cover give away I thought that I would show you how to make a burlap table runner. I have made several in different colors of burlap and I love them all.
First of all cut your burlap in the size that you want for your table. Then pull the burlap strings one at a time until you have about a 1″ to 1 1/2″ fringe on all four sides or what ever looks good to you.
Then run a straight stitch next to the fringe around all four sides. This will keep it from fraying.
I sewed a ruffle on the short edges. You can embellish them any way you want. I have stenciled on them, sewn all different types of ruffles, they all turn out great and the burlap goes with just about any decor you have in your house.
This is one that I did for Valentines day.
The above photos are the finished product. They cost about 2 bucks to make and takes about thirty minutes. I am giving some away in gift baskets for Christmas. The runners above I used the white burlap. I wanted something a little different this year. Stay tune for more!
Life is LOVERLY when you are doing what you love!
