A Primitive Cupboard!

Welcome dear blogging friends. I hope that you all had a great weekend and are ready for a new week. It is bitter cold and windy today in the Salt Lake City area. Burr! But Spring is almost here, seeing buds on my roses gives me hope.

I have been giving you little sneak peeks of an old find . . .

I have been looking for something very special to hang above my farmhouse table, and I am so happy to tell you that I found an old primitive cupboard at the Lost and Found shop on one of my junk n trips.

I couldn’t have found anything more perfect than this, it didn’t need any work it was perfect as is. Shirley from Lost and Found was almost in tears when her husband Rex sold it to me. I had to tell her that I would put it in my will to her. She had grown very attached to this  old cupboard.

It couldn’t have been more perfect above the table. My son Nathan so kindly helped me hang it on the wall. Thank you Nathan!

The cupboard is now ready for some of my beautiful white stoneware pieces.

The primitive cupboard has an amazing patina, a several different colors painted on it. I love that part.

My new pieces of stoneware are so perfect in the cupboard.

One thing that I really like about stoneware is the fact that each of my pieces are a different age and the color and the patina is different even though it is all white.

I hope that you enjoyed my little surprise. What vintage finds have you found lately?

  1. What a perfect little find! It reminds me of a vintage cupboard my auntie had; she put vintage lace on the shelves and hung it over a bit to dress it up. She would place little holiday trees in it at Christmas and a flicker candle glowed in it all year. it’s lovely with your stoneware in it and a great way to display it!

  2. It’s just perfect in your home, Jo. I love it! Your stoneware pieces look like they belong with the cupboard and they do! I like the fact that you left it just as you found it. Not changing a thing and simply bringing it into its new lovely environment. Sort of like saying to it, “I love you just the way you are. . .you don’t need to change for me!” LOL Hugs, Nancy
