Blogging Memories

Welcome to more blogging memories!

Today I’m going to go back and show you some of the projects that I did last year.

My messy area. Just a waiting for my new hutch.

My messy area. Just a waiting for my new hutch.

One of the first ones that I shared was the arrival of my new hutch. This messy area is where the hutch is going to be.

I was so thrilled with having a new hutch that I quickly filled it up with pretties.  As you can see my colors were very different back then! PINK, Orange! It’s so interesting how our taste changes. I changed out the pinkish orange into a lovely earth tone.

Here is the first time that I arranged it, it’s had a gazillion more since then.

Valspar

I did a post on using this fun crackle glaze. I used my old chair that has been many colors.

Base coat chair

I first gave my chair a light coat of brown paint so that it would show through the crackle.

Then I painted a coat of the crackle, then let it dry, then a coat of the light pink paint.

One thing that I found when painting with the crackle is that when you go to repaint it like I did a few months ago to white it still leaves that nice crackle look.

J letter done

I just had to try my hand at using mod podge  on a letter bound for my granddaughters room.

Modpoge

I love this product, you can use it on so many surfaces. I’m going to mod podge a dresser shortly. I’ll show you later how it turns out.

All done J

I cut a few scrapes of fabric, then I coated the mod podge on the letter and laid on the pieces of fabric, then mod podge on the top of the fabric. Easy!

Crib bedding

This is a layette set that I made for Izabella who arrived last May. I covered the bumper pads, made a cute crib quilt. It’s So fun to decorate for girls.

I love the colors that my daughter in law choose for her room. Lavender and blue.

This is a fun post that I did on how to make tea-cup pincushions. Click above to see how I made them. They really make fun gifts. I can’t believe that I didn’t even make one for me!

If you haven’t enter the give away for the apron make sure that you do so by commenting on your favorite color and why. I’ve had so many responses and have really enjoyed reading your comments. Thank you so much for leaving them they really warm my heart and add to a blogging friendship.

I hope that you all have a lovely day and that I gave you a little inspiration to start a project of your own. Most things that I do are not time-consuming. I usually have four little grands around to help out so I make my projects easy!

Hugs,

Jo

  1. Fun looking back Jo! I too love using crackle and Mod Podge. Haven’t crackled anything in quite some time, but use to a lot when I taught tole painting. Love the chair! My little grandson, Will had an owl themed room also and it was so sweet. I painted a tree on the wall for my dil. He is 3 1/2 now and a new little one is on the way. The room just got repainted and she is doing a grey and navy theme. She painted a new white tree on a different wall with leaves blowing in the wind and it turned out so cute. Love those sweet nurseries!
