Ruffle kind of Gal

Welcome to my blog today. I hope that you all enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend. Mine was amazing. I actually went and stayed with my mom for a few days in South Jordan, UT. It was fun and relaxing. My mom is a hoot to be around, you would never know that she is 85 years old. She has a beautiful cottage, decorated just gorgeous!  I took lots of pictures to show you but for some reason I was unable to down load them. I will keep trying and  hopefully show you next time.

I have been very busy doing some fun projects to my little nest. I’m the kind of person that starts a project finishes it then starts another, I can’t sleep at night if I know that there are projects that need to be finished, crazy me. lol I’ve been adding some ruffles to my decor .

ruffles towels

I started in my bathroom and added white ruffles to a set of white towels. I told my grands and my son that these were just to look at not to use. We will see how far that goes. lol

Next I made a set of white ruffled chair pads out of an old white sheet.

ruffles left

I have made so many things out of that white king sheet. Sheeting fabric is perfect for pieces like this, I even made pillow covers from it.

I am really tickled how they turned out, I surprise myself quite often. lol I have lots more to share so visit often. Have a lovely week.

Hugs, Jo

  1. Ruffles are definitely fun! I bet those towels in the bathroom get used much sooner than you are hoping! Love the chair pad! Enjoy your week, Cindy

    • I think I like girly, having 4 men in the house and a daughter that was a tom boy kept me from in-bracing my feminine side now I don’t hold back. Good luck on Cottages remodel up stairs. Can’t wait to see it. Jo

  2. So glad you had a great time with your mom and I can’t wait to see the pictures!! Your ruffles are gorgeous!! Talent drips from your hands!!! Have a great day!!

  3. Sheets make wonderful ‘fabric’ for all sorts of creative things – even better when you can pick them up for a song at a thrift store! Your towels are so pretty.

    • Hi Cathy, thank you for visiting. The sheet that I used for the chair covers was a brand new king sheet and it was very soft but sturdy. I think that it will stay just fine, this bathroom room is mine but on occasion I have visitors from up above. I’ve had them up for over 3 weeks and so far no one has used them. Knock on wood. Enjoy your day! Jo

  4. Love your ruffles, Jo!! You have absolutely inspired me. My guest room towels are white and I think they may need some ruffles. Happy week-end 🙂

  5. Just love how ruffles dress things up! Jo you amaze me as well. lol! I have some plain white towels that are crying out for me to add ruffles. I recently bought a large linen table cloth for a steal. Knew it was too big for my table, but thought I would use it to make some chair pads. Well, I’ve decorated my table in a beach theme and decided to try it out. I was too long, but I just pinned the sides up and added a knotted napkin. I love it! Gives the illusion of sand. Chair pads will have to wait. Hee-hee! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  6. Your cushions and towels came out so well. They really look so pretty. I love ruffles too.
Great job! and thanks for sharing them with us.
    Blessings, Nellie

  7. You can never go wrong with ruffles, right? 🙂 Your ruffles are simply lovely! Thnks for sharing with Roses of Inspiration. Hugs!

  8. I love your ruffled seat pillows! And what a fun idea to put ruffles on the towels! I have lots of old sheets around but I don’t like sewing anymore! I love looking at other’s creativity though.
