Good day to all, and welcome to my blog. Summer is surely about us and I hope that all of you have welcomed it with open arms. I am loving the beautiful fragrance as I work about in my little garden.
I have been doing some junk’n the last little while and have found some great finds. My favorite little shop “Lost and Found” is over flowing with great items. I was truly in my element the other day as I visited. As I walked through the shop I could see items that many of you would love to have in your home, and I was wishing that I could shop with each one of you here. But since I cant I’ll share what I found. All’s I can say is it’s a good thing that I have a small budget and don’t own a truck! lol
One of the first things that I noticed at the shop was two beautiful antique brass church altar candle holders. I was in love. This little shop rents out some of their items for different advents during the summer. These candle sticks were part of the rentals. I was able to talk the proprietor into selling one of them now, but I have to wait for the other one this fall. But I am in love so I will wait. You don’t see many things like this in Utah so I can’t be choosy. It’s part of my French Nordic fetish.
In front of the shop was a huge pile of old shutters, glass pane windows, and doors in all sizes. Yes, it’s a good thing that I don’t have a truck. lol I took this great chippy window home with me. Not one broken pane. I just love all of the great chippiness going on.
I think that down the road I will line it with lace and paint some lovely roses on the panes. But for now, I will just look at it for inspiration.
Isn’t it interesting that when you bring home a item how the domino effect starts? Down came the lace curtain and up went the window and two table runners, plus much more moving around and designing new vignettes.
I bought two large white shutters, I hung one in the sitting area . .
. . . and one for a back drop in my kitchen.
I have several other finds and I will share those with you at another time.
I have been doing a little more stenciling, I’m getting much better at it.
I made this sweet Cottage sign out of a piece of wood from a pallet. I wanted to incorporate just a little more color in my home so I painted it a lovely green, then stenciled Cottage on it and added some fabric roses with mod podge. I think it gives the window some lovely color.
I even added some roses to my French bakery sign. I think that little details really add a lot to a vignette.
I kind of went a little crazy as I added some stencils to my chippy stools.
DETAILS, Details, details.
I just had to try some stenciling on fabric and it works amazingly well.
Thank you all for visiting, and I want to thank you for your comments and your blogging friendship.
