Ideas on How to Use Trays to Organize !

I am so glad that you have come to visit today.  I had One King’s Lane email mail me the other day and ask if I wouldn’t help them show my visitors followers how to use trays to corral my pretty things and how I use them. Well that was easy for me because I am a neat freak and I use trays a lot to keep my pretties from becoming junkies.

So this is how I use trays to keep my things organized.

First let’s start in the kitchen. If you are one of my followers then you know how I use this tray in my kitchen as a place where I coral my hot drinks. The canisters are full of tea, tea bags, and hot chocolate. I use a blue ball jar for sugar and my tea-pot goes neatly next to everything. I don’t have to search through the cupboards to have my morning cup, it is all right there next to my microwave so I can heat the water.

Tray tea service

This is one of my favorite tray baskets I use to carry my tea to my bedroom for a nice cup before bed.

Tray bed tray

This basket its perfect because it has handles on both ends for carrying.

Tray butler's

At the end of my bed I have a beautiful antique Butler’s Tray. I keep some of my many decorating books there on hand to look through with my hot tea before bed.

Tray perfume

How do you corral your pretties? I have a tray from One King’s Lane that I bought several years ago to keep my beauty aids close at hand near my bathroom.

I liked this tray because it is easy to clean, versatile, and very french. It’s in the colors of aqua, grey and gold. Just my colors.

Tray lamp

You can use a tray to corral many things, I have a small wooden one sitting on my end table to hold TV remotes. Here I use this ornate silver tray to put a lamp and some lovelies on.

It gives it more of a collected feel rather than having them scattered all over and it adds some contrast from all of the white.

Now that you have seen the ways that I use trays to organize things in my home here is a link that will take you to see a video that shows how One King’s Lane .com uses their trays. Here is a link to check out what they are selling (I’m not being paid for this, just helping them). I hope you check them out it really shows some great ideas.

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Your useful tray ideas to organize are all so pretty! I really like the ideas of the tray to take your tea to bed and organize cosmetics/jewelry. Will check out the King’s Lane site for some other ideas and inspiration. The layout of your blog and photos are so nicely done and inviting, too!

  2. Good morning, Jo! I just love how useful your trays are and I especially love how beautiful they are {{smiles}} Thank you, sweet friend, for inspiring us to “think outside of the box.” I am going to be on the lookout for trays now 🙂

    Have a lovely day! Hugs!

  3. Jo,
All your trays are awesome and so pretty with your organized vignettes. Great job. Happy Friday and enjoy the week end.

  4. You have given me a great idea to use one beside my bed to hold all the things that I seem to keep managing to knock over and off the bedside table. It’s yard sale day tomorrow – maybe I’ll find a nice tray!

  5. I love using trays as well. You have made some great suggestions on how to use them. I think it’s so nice that you take a tray with tea to your bedroom to have before bed. I bet that’s a great way to transition to get sleepy.

  6. Your home is so pretty. Great idea to use trays. Pretty and functional. thanks for sharing at the #HomeMattersParty

  7. Jo, love trays for corralling and they’re just darn fun! You have some gorgeous ones! I have a few that I love and use often. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
