How is Your Garden Growing?

Hi to everyone! Is your Summer slipping through your fingers like it is mine? Where has it gone to? I am truly excited about Fall coming though. I know many of you will think that I am crazy but my two favorite seasons are Fall and Winter.

I am a very sensitive individual and I love to feel the changing of the seasons. One thing that I will really miss is my lovely rose garden. I have had fresh flowers in my home since Spring. I cut them weekly, it has been so much fun to make many little small bouquets out of them. They sit in every room of my little nest.

I have shown you a lot of projects that I have been doing lately so I thought it would be a nice change to show you something a little different. Here are a few of my sweet bouquets.

garden

I use just about anything that will hold water to put my roses in. I love this vintage blue-bottle, it make a great vase.

These roses are from my miniature rose bushes. They dry up nicely too. I’m got a great project coming up that I will do with all of these lovely dried flowers.

The bath room even gets a charming little bouquet. I put a sprig of rosemary in it for fun.

I like using some greenery in the bouquets and a blue Ball jar sets it off just perfect.

The more the merrier.

garden angel

Believe it or not this tiny cherub is a vase and holds some tiny sunflowers. What do you do with your garden picks?

garden angel sideI have been out doing some junk’n lately and have some great architectural items. I will be showing those with you down the road. Here are a couple of finds that I adore!

garden blk box

A wooden foot locker . . .

garden wooden box

. . .  and a great old wooden box. Now what to do with them. Sometimes I just look at them for a few days and Wa La! The inspiration starts to flow. Ig I see something that I really am drawn to I buy it and worry about what I will do with it later. It always works out some way. I know you must think “Where does she put all of those things in her tiny nest” but when you use layering in your decor the home just seems to swallow it up.

One last thing, I have a big THANK YOU to give to . . .

garden Kris

. . . my dear friend Kris Vavra from Junk Chic Cottage blog. She announced that her kitchen was in Romantic Homes special cottage addition magazine.  I was unable to find one and she offered to send me one. Well, if you know Kris at all she goes the extra mile with everything she does, and she sent me an amazing sweet package.

garden mag

Not only did the magazine arrive the next day, but also several lovelies were in it.

She sent this spoonful of friendship hanger. Look at the details. Sweet wings, and lots of great chippiness! I will cherish this for ever, and when I look at it, it will remind me of a sweet blogging angel that went out of her way to send me this thoughtful package when I really needed a big hug from someone. Thanks so much Kris!

  1. Oh my goodness, what a sweet gift from Kris! My only wish is that nloggig friends were closer geographically, to visit in person.
I am savoring my garden flowers still for about another month, at least, but mostly leave mine in the yard, letting the birds, butterflies & bees have their way with them. 🙂
    Have a great day, Jo.

  2. Love the angel vase! I take cutting from my summer plants and try to make cutting from them. Right now I have some angel wing begonias that are rooting in a little red vase that sits in my bay window. My favorite season is fall because of Halloween and the burnt orange colors! I am already looking at vintage Halloween decorations on Pinterest-so many good ideas!

  3. Seeing your beautiful roses reminded me of how much I miss the old-fashioned single rose shrubs we had at the house. Their scent was incredible and when they were in bloom the entire back yard was filled with it.

  6. Yes, summer is slipping by and like you I will miss my freshly cut flowers. Although my arrangements do not look anything like yours. Talk about inspiration, I truly need to step up my game. Absolutely love your arrangements and how you disperse them troughout your living space. I’m not one who loves winter but my favorite season is soon approaching, absolutely cherish everything about fall.
And seriously, that little gift from Kirs is adorable, what a treasure.

Kris is such a sweetie, isn’t she. Love what she sent to you. I missed the magazine so will have to see if they are still on the newstand..Happy Weekend..Judy
