Part 1 – Decorating with Gold

I love gold tones. How about you? It is shinny and warm and it brings a lovely welcoming look to your home. I have been adding some gold pieces into my decor this year.

All it takes to add gold is a little bit of ingenuity and imagination ,  for me I am always on budget so I look for the least inexpensive way to decorate. Many pieces in my nest are from using a little jar of gold colored paint. Before I show you what I have been up to with gold lets take a look at what the world is doing by adding gold to their decor.

I love the look of this bedroom with all of the gold accents. Stenciling is one beautiful way to add gold into a room. I’m loving the beautiful head board, trimmed in gold, and the beautiful satin fabric with a touch of gold, it is so elegant. I think it gives a little shine to the home.

Several years ago I spent hours painting my gold frames white, now I want many of them back. Spray painting frames is one of the easiest ways to bring some gold into your home decor.

Here are six steps to being flawless, fearless and owning your confidence at work!:

Gold in the office is so bright and cheery and adds a very regal look. I have been adding some gold pieces to my work bench, such as a gold day planner, iPhone cover, stapler and tape dispenser. It only takes a few pieces to add this gold charm.

I loved this idea for a wall hanging it’s so simple and beautiful, and you are the one that makes it a master piece.

Later on this week I will be showing you some gold tones that I have added to my home.

Sending you all hugs, Jo

  1. I loved your post on gold tones, and reminds me that I love the look of gold tones that have been crackled and aged (got me thinking…). The stenciled wall is stunning–thanks for sharing!

  2. Jo, lots of fun and intriguing gold photos you posted. Looking forward to seeing your Midas touch. I’m a lover of gold leaf ceilings in small powder rooms. Did one once for a client and it stayed in my mind as one of my favorite jobs. Gold leaf framed mirrors are gorgeous too. I love your first photo of the gold stenciled wall – simply stunning.

  3. We’re on the same wave length! 🙂 I’ve got a thing for gold too and just posted a nightstand that I painted gold. Like you, I have some other things to share later.

The stenciled wall is stunning! A lot of things can change with a paint brush or can of spray paint.

    Have a wonderful week!

  4. Sweet Jo, don’t know why, but I have never been a lover of gold. Even my wedding ring was white gold. However, I am coming round. lol! Love your inspiration photos!

  5. Oddly enough I think I’m one of the extremely rare people that don’t care for brass.Gold in other forms is nice, but I still prefer silver for some reason. I must try to mend my ways!

  6. Isn’t it funny how we, who all sprayed the gold things we owned a few years back, suddenly have a love affair once more with gold? I love a touch of gold, it really does bring a touch of glamour and richness to everything!

  7. I’ve been slowly falling in love with gold ( and brass actually ) again too ! Haven’t even looked at it since the 80’s but everything old is new again right? Love your inspiration pics – especially that first one – WOW !

  8. YES, so glad you’re changing the frames back to gold! Gold spray paint is my best friend, I love everything gold (well not quite everything)! Thanks for sharing the gold with us!

  9. I did the exact same thing to many of my frames a few years ago. But I totally agree, adding some gold to your home decor adds such richness and elegance and a little touch goes a long way. Absolutely love this post.

  10. Gold is so rich and sophisticated. I just love the inspiration you have shared, sweet friend. It’s was truly a delight to have you at Roses of Inspiration. Love and hugs to you!

  11. Anne, cracked me up when you said you painted everything white and now you’re going back to gold. Same here!! I’m about to paint the big mirror frame in my entry because this girl needs some gold. 🙂

Thanks so much for joining Thoughts of Home on Thursday. We are happy to have you.

  12. You are funny! I am doing the same right now with all my frames that I had painted white. Funny how our tastes return to the earlier trends!
