A Touch of Spring

Here among the Rocky Mountains the sky has been so blue and only a light jacket has been needed the last few days. I can see tiny buds starting to show on my rose bushes and days are starting to be a little longer. These are such gentle reminders that Spring is on it’s way.

And the Spring arose on the garden fair;

Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;

And each flower and herb on Earth’s dark breast

Rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.

Percy Bysshe Shelley

With Easter being so early this year it seems that winter has been a slight blur to me. I’m sure that a little snow will fall as it did last night but the hope for Spring is here.

I have been buzzing around my little nest like a bee. I have set up my shop so it is open for business starting today. Still a lot of construction has to be done so a lot of my space it temporary and I will be showing that a little later this week.

Here are some glimpses of Spring in my nest.

My birds have come lout to roost on the mantle this year.

I can just about stuff a little nest any where and this one landed in a tea cup

and this one is snuggled into a small scale. You can almost make nest out of anything, with a little ingenuity from around the yard.

I enjoy my religious items gracing this large lantern.

Nothing like the beautiful flowers whether they are real or not. I can’t wait to see my rose bushes blooming so I can bring them indoor.

What have you been doing to ready for Spring? Is there anyone out there that have the tradition of Spring cleaning?

Have an amazing new week!

  1. Jo your nest looks very Springy! I love your vintage “rabbit” books and your sweet bunnies. One followed me home from Whole Foods on Thursday, adorable and small. Simon sniffed it when I came home but when he realized it didn’t have cat nip in it he knew it was Mommy’s toy, lol.

  3. Love the bunnies, nests and vintage Peter Cottontail book to welcome the spring and the rebirth it brings! Soon I will be welcoming spring with covering my dark couch with a white slipcover, bringing down the darker curtains with sheers and replacing my winter tapestries with a glicee painting of an open poppy field. I even replace my gothic looking table lamps with lamps more suitable to spring. Best of luck in your space at the store and wishes that the upcoming spring brings you all good things and blessings!

  5. I like it all but the wheat and grape leaf candleabra is my favorite, I think it is probably called something else though, like girandole or something like that maybe? 🙂

  6. Cute stuff—I think I will have to decorate next week, once all the bedroom furniture is out of the livingroom …lol, still buried in chaos here. Your post was filled with cute and simple ideas…with such a touch of whimsy—thanks for the smiles, Sandi
