Welcome! To Anne’s Attic – design today! There is indeed a winner for the 2nd annual anniversary give away!
Thank you so much for all of you how have joined in for my 2nd annual anniversary giveaway! To all of you who are brand new and in between, and to you that have followed me for the last two years I thank you from the bottom of my heart, for without you there would not be a reason to be blogging! I am so excited to announce the winner but first I just have to show you the lovely spring flowers that have been growing in my tiny garden as well as over the back fence.
When we first moved into this home 3 1/2 years ago the only thing that was growing in the flower beds were grape hyacinths and tiny violets. They were growing in the lawn as well. (our landlord does not allow trees and the yard was new even though the home was built in 1960. He said that we could plant flowers and bushes) I have a lovely rose garden that is just waking up after it’s long winters nap. In the springtime the beds are filled with this purple flowers, they are so lovely we surely do not have a shortage of them. Adding a Ball jar and a bit of ticking makes a lovely simple bouquet for my little nests kitchen.
First of all I want you to know that I am not stealing the lilacs. lol These gorgeous lilacs grow over our back fence of a sweet older lady’s home, she is 95 and still gardenin! With her permission I cut some each year, they bring an amazing fragrance into my home as well as the lovely lacey beauty and color. In the house that I raised my children in we had a wonderful front porch and I planted a small lilac bush that grew and grew and grew until it was knocked down by the ice cream man. That is another story. lol We would sit on the front porch in April through May and enjoy the beautiful fragrance of this amazing bush. To this day my boys will smile and say that the lilacs takes them back to our front porch years ago. It’s such a lovely memory for them.
I sprinkle bouquets through out my little nest. Turely when smelling these lovely lilacs I feel serene and tranquil. I need them most in the winter.lol Here a bouquet sits next to my big pink chair on the old meat safe turned end table. I do a lot of computer work and reading there.
Here a bouquet sits right next to my bed on an old butlers tray. Oh, it’s so amazing. I really wish that someone could bottle the true fragrance. I noticed that the white ones have a little different fragrance than the purple ones. I have never noticed it before. But all the same the fragrance is amazing. It has to be my favorite flower, I just wish that they bloomed all summer. Ahh . . .
Now, for the 2nd Anniversary giveaway! Just to let you know that I would give you all one of these pillows if I could. I want to give a special thank you to all of you who have supported me through the last two years and to those who are brand new and in between, I value each and every follower. I have made some amazing precious friends from blogging. There are two special ladies with blogs that I am sure that you are familiar with and if you are not you are missing out (check them out), I reached out to them and they did me a very special favor of following my blogg when no else was following and gave me ideas on how to get my blog out there to you. Thank you Kris from Junk Chic Cottage, and Shirley from Housepitality Designs!
I have made friendships with bloggers and followers that have helped me through many tough times. Friends that have shown me how to blog as well as how to decorate my home. All in all blogging has been a very positive venture in my life. I started blogging because I needed an outlet for my interior design and found so much more!
