Welcome to Share Your Cup Thursday where he get to share our wonderful ideas! Hi, I’m Jo from Anne’s Attic – design and it’s mine turn to host.
Valentine’s day has been a very perplexing day for me over the last several years. I am much more open to Valentine’s day than I use to be. It doesn’t mean I have to have a gentleman on my arm to make the day complete, no, for me it’s all of my loved ones that really give there heart to me. It’s the elderly widower who lives on the corner and brings me tomatoes. Continue reading
I want to give a special welcome to all of you and thank you for visiting my blog. I have a fun little project that I want to share with you today that is fast, fun, and didn’t cost a penny. I had everything in-house to make this.
I first saw the idea for the darling heart in Romantic Country magazine, Spring 2015. They had used it for wedding decor and anything to do with a wedding certainly would be for Valentines Day right? My only problem was that I had run out of the heavier wire so I searched the house for a coveted wire hanger. Nope couldn’t find one. I won’t have a wire hanger in my closest (I’m very fussy) plus I used them all for crafting. So I took the journey up stairs and nope out of five closets I couldn’t find even one. I guess I had used all of theirs to. Imagine that! LOL
Then a few days later one appeared! I could not believe my eyes. I knew for sure that I was to make this lovely heart after all! LOL
Wire hangers are not the easiest wire to bend but I was able to bend it into a heart shape, then tie it in the middle with some twine. I wished that the wire had not been white so it would show through the lace fabric but with the miraculous appearance of the hanger I was not fussy.
I used a scrape of the pillow fabric that I had left and cut a heart about half-inch bigger than the wire frame.
I originally was going to hand stitch the fabric on the wire frame but being that the lace was not very see through the stitching did not show, (I know I tried it then unpicked) so I glued it with hot glue by taking the edge over the wire and gluing it.
It really turned out cute, I love the look that this fabric gave it so ruffly.
I hope that you enjoyed this little tutorial. I love all of your sweet comments they mean so much to me. Please share my blog with others this makes blogging so worth my while. Thank you so much! Have a great weekend! Whatever you do be safe and enjoy yourself and add a little happiness into someone else s life very much like you do to mine!
