A Romantic Christmas

Welcome everyone to the Creative Christmas linky party!  How fun is this to get to inside of everyone’s home at Christmas time. I love going for a drive and looking at the home’s that are already for Christmas. I love seeing their Christmas tree shinning through the front windows, and often wonder what it must look like inside. Continue reading

Refreshing the Kitchen

Hello there again, I have some fun hopefully inspiring kitchen vignettes. I know that by looking at other blogs, homes of friends and families I get inspiration to make my home more pleasing, so I hope that I can do this for you. Enjoy!

BeFunky_K up dates.jpg

This vignette is on top of my microwave. I’ve used an old blue and white dish towel with some shoe forms and a very old wooden drawer. I have a bunch of wooden hearts that one of my sons made for me years ago in their shop class that I put out for Valentines.

BeFunky_K update 1.jpg

Here is my spice cabinet, all of my cabinets are from Ikea, I love them they clean up easy and the top ones even light up. On the top of the cabinet I have used some of the smaller pieces that I have of white ironstone, and an old box.

BeFunky_K update 3.jpg

Adding a little dried lavender in an old Ball jar with lace always adds some Romantic Country charm.

BeFunky_K update 2.jpg

The top of my fridge is so huge that I think I could put my whole kitchen on it. LOL A little burlap. baskets, covered boxes, wire baskets, and my cute owl like to hang out there.

BeFunky_K update 4.jpg

Here is my kitchen counter tops. White tile was my choice, I don’t even have to worry about putting a hot pan on it. I don’t have a lot of storage, but my large canisters and jars take that worry away.

BeFunky_K update 5.jpg

I received this darling wire picnic basket as a Christmas gift, it holds pine cones and a burlap feed sac. I made the table runner out of burlap.

BeFunky_K update 6.jpg

I really get a lot of use out of my bar, it’s great for feeding the grand kids, baking, and crafting. I’ll be fixing another eye sore, this time in my kitchen. Hope you enjoyed my changes. Enjoy your day!

2014 in review

Hello dear friends I hope that your Christmas was joyous and full of family and friends. I am taking down Christmas and getting ready for the new year when my yearly report from WordPress came in and I want to share it with you. These are the results of my first 9 months of blogging results. Kind of like having a baby. LOL Thank you dear readers!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here's an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 3,500 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 58 trips to carry that many people.

Click here to see the complete report.

I love it when you leave comments, let me know what you would like to see more of.

Have a very warm New Year! Jo

Thanx to all my dear friends that have helped me along the way!

Christmas Hutch

Merry Christmas to all my dear friends! I want to share with you some more of my Christmas vignettes. Here are some fun ideas that I came up with.

BeFunky_Christmas Hutch Collage.jpg

BeFunky_Christmas Hutch 4.jpg

In this picture are some vintage Santa mugs that I have had for years. I have kept all of my Christmas decor in neutrals but some times I just have to add some old favorites with traditional Christmas colors like these old Santa mugs.

BeFunky_Christmas Hutch 8.jpg

I started collecting reindeer this year and to my collection I added one from Sweden (where my ancestors are from) and this great metal deer, both from Etsy shops.

BeFunky_Christmas Hutch 1.jpg

I adore this old box and with a little added greenery, feathers, pine cones, and a candle it works perfect on my hutch.

BeFunky_Christmas Hutch 5.jpg

These beautiful bowls with birds on them adds color and more of my heritage from Sweden and Denmark. This time of year I really think about my ancestor and love to add bits and pieces of it to my Christmas decor.

BeFunky_Christmas Hutch side.jpg

The Christmas plates that I have on my hutch was a gift from my parents years ago. Mom said that know Christmas table should be set with out the proper dishes.

BeFunky_Christmas Hutch front.jpg

Here is a frontal photo that shows all the shelves. Just a note, I do not like it when Christmas lights take center attention away from all of my Christmas pretties, so I use white stringed lights and tie pieces of tulle in between, they look camouflaged kind of like snow. It just fits in better.

I hope that you enjoyed some of my Christmas vignettes they are so fun to do and I am really enjoying the beauty they bring into my home. Until next time!

This is the last of my furniture projects for a while any way. I love this big old chair. It is so comfortable, but it just didn’t seem to fit in my home until I finally had the courage to repaint it.

BeFunky_b chair.jpg

The chair turned out to be so beautiful, I should have painted it a long time ago.

BeFunky_b chair close.jpg

Some day I may recover it but I like the way it looks for now.

Lots More Fall Decor

Thank you for coming! The Fall days have been so beautiful! I hope that you are taking time to get out side and enjoy the beauty of this time of year. I just want to share a few more views of Fall with you, and some great finds.

BeFunky_mf nome 2.jpg

The Grandchildren and I made it to the Farmers Market near our home in Bountiful. We had so much fun picking out the perfect pumpkin. It’s incredible the colors that they come in now, BLUE, PINK, who would have thought?

BeFunky_m f crumble.jpg

Look at this pumpkin, the patina on it is beautiful, the Grand kids thought I crazy for wanting this one.

BeFunky_m f entrance.jpg

I also picked up this beautiful Mum which will last all Fall and then I can replant it.

BeFunky_m f mums.jpg

So BEAUTIFUL!

BeFunky_mf tiny.jpg

Don’t you just love these Jack Be Little’s in white? They make a statement all their own.

BeFunky_m f tray.jpg

As we move into the house I want to share some of my recent finds and a couple of my creations. This tray is a large picture frame that I painted and lined it with blue fabric, then I turned it over and I use it to corral some of my counter things.

BeFunky_m f scale pumkins.jpg

I found this great scale on Etsy, the color and the patina are just perfect for my kitchen!

BeFunky_m f sm scale.jpg

I found this little scale on Etsy to, isn’t it cute? I did give it a little coat of paint.

BeFunky_m f both scales.jpg

Putting them side by side looks so great.

BeFunky_m f lace.jpg

Here is just a cute glass jar with lace, I think it is so pretty to look at.

BeFunky_m f birds.jpg

Here I found a great sugar silver sugar bowl. Some of the parts of it is sorta bluish I’m pretty sure that the silver isn’t as good, but I like the color of it. I found this piece at a thrift store in the area.

BeFunky_m f owl.jpg

This great owl got a new coat of paint. He was green but I like him much better this way.

Thanks to all of you that gave me advice on repainting my vintage picture frames, your advice was great and I will be trying them.

Have a beautiful weekend! Go do something you love with someone you love. Life is LOVERLY!
